Payment needs to be taken before the HIP can be commissioned.

Rentals

As of the 1st October 2008 all landlords will be required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for every property that is newly let out. The EPC will be valid for 10 years and it is the landlords responsibility to make the EPC assessable to the tenants.

Deferred Payment Option

You can choose to defer your payment for 10 months. This means you will pay a £3.50 fee on your debit/credit card immediately to validate the card. The payment will then be taken when one of the conditions below are met:

• In ten months from the date of the pack being commissioned
• Contracts are exchanged for the sale of the property
• Withdrawal of the property from sale
• You change the estate agent instructed to market the property
• The date, which is 5 days before the expiry of your credit/debit card, if you fail to provide HIP Payment Services with new valid credit/debit card details.
